50 kinds of minerals have been found in Ningxia, mostly
nonmetal sources. The average amount of resource per person
and has leaped to be the fifth and is 1.6 times of the
whole nation. The main minerals are coal, gypsum, petroleum,
natural gas, refractory clay, quartz sandstone, barites
etc. Ningxia has a huge coal reserve of over 30 billion
tons, an estimated reserve of more than 200 billion tons,
and ranks the fifth in the nation. Ningxia¡¯s coal is known
for its great variety, for it has 9 of the 10 coals of
the nation. The excellent ¡°Taixi Coal¡± is famous for its
¡°Three lows and Six highs¡± characteristics¡ªlow culm, low
sulfur and low phosphor; high heat, high resistivity,
high reclaiming rate, high lump coal content, high chemical
activity and high mechanic intensity. ¡°Taixi Coal¡± is
the crucial export product of Ningxia, and sells well
over dozens of European and American countries.
¡¡¡¡Ningxia Lingwu and Yanchi District, Yinchuan Basin,
Weining Basin, and Liupanshan Basin are four areas with
oil and gas resources potentials. By far, in Lingwu
and Yanchi Districts oil flux has been found for industry
use. In addition, gas resources in coal beds are abundant.
It is estimated that 241.9 billion gas resources are
laid in the coal bed 1 000 meters deep. |
