Strong Hui national features, lush southern-type fields
north of the Great Wall, splendid desert, ancient Yellow
River civilization, and mysterious Xixia culture make
up a colorful tourist resource in Ningxia. Human race
has lived here since thirty thousand years before. The
ruins of human activity in Shui Donggou in late Paleolithic
Period, rock engravings scattered in the east of Helan
Mountain, Xixia tombs eroded for about thousand years
have recorded the vicissitudes of the history. There is
a diversity of Ningxia landforms, such as distinctive
scenery, a region of rivers and lakes, moist soil and
lakes, Gobi desert, grasslands, earth hills, spectacle
sunset which are echoing one another. The remains of the
Great Wall from the Warring States, Qin, Han, Tang, Song
to Yuan, Ming dynasties can be seen here and there which
are honored as ¡° The Great Wall Museum¡±. The poem ¡°Treading
Helan Mountain¡± in ¡°Manjianghong¡± written by Yuefei and
the poem ¡°Qingpingyue, Liupan Mountain¡± by Mao Zedong
make Helan mountain and Liupan Mountain famous throughout
the world. At present, there are as many as over 60 scenery
spots in Ningxia such as Sand Lake, Xixia Tombs, Shapotou,
Helan rock engravings, Shui Donggou relics, the Western
Movie Studio, Jin Shuiyuan Garden, Qing Tongxia 108 Towers,
Xu Nishan Grotto, Muslim Temple in Tongxin County, Liupan
Mountain etc. The amasing festivals in Ningxia incliude
Wolfberry Festival, International Ningxia Desert-Yellow
River Tourist Festival and Yinchuan International Motor
